Gail S. Halvorsen
Celebration of Life
May 20th & 21st, 2022
Thanks for your participation!
“Children hold the future of the whole world in their hand; our children and everyone’s children.”
– Col. Halvorsen
In 1948 when the children of Berlin were starving, we rallied to send them much needed food, fuel, blankets and holpe.
Col. Gail S. Halvorsen was not content to stop there. He also brought smiles. Seeing the children of Berlin needed something to remind them that childhood is a time of magic and laughter, Col. Halvorsen pooled his candy rations and those of his fellow pilots. He tied them to handkerchief parachutes to drop for the children along his flight path. He wiggled his wings to let the kids know it was him coming in, flying into history and into the hearts of the children of Berlin and of the world.
Celebrate his life with us in an event for kids of all ages.
