The Candy Bomber Executive Assistant

Halvorsen Aviation Education Foundation is hiring a part-time (0.5 FTE) employee who would fill the functions of Executive Assistant for the Foundation.  This person would report to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The position could lead to full-time employment for the successful applicant.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports/performs capital development/fundraising for the Foundation
  • Grant writing to secure on-going support from youth development and education-minded organizations and charities
  • Provide regular communications with donors and other interested parties; drafts and publishes the Foundation case study and annual report
  • Manages use of Foundation digital platforms, including the website, social media accounts, email, and other dissemination tools; develops content for social media
  • Publish and promote marketing, editorial, and fundraising materials that increase awareness of Foundation mission to inspire children through the life principles of the Berlin Candy Bomber- Colonel Gail S. Halvorsen
  • Maintain the Foundation Schedule of Events; assists with recruiting volunteers for public events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, technical writing, or other related fields required
  • 2-4 years’ experience in organizing and directing communications campaign
  • Creative thinker with good strategic judgement and ability to make independent decisions that support Foundation mission goals and objectives
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment, and handle multiple assignments to meet deadlines in support of Foundation objectives
  • Strong communicator with excellent written, presentation, oral communications skills with positive interpersonal competences
  • Experience with publishing content on WordPress or similar platform with minimal supervision
  • Understands and applies best practices for writing and publishing on common platforms (website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
  • Software skills desired: working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Teams, Excel, and Publisher; Word Press or other website platform, MailChimp or similar mass email provider; working knowledge of Blackbaud eTapestry
