General (Ret.) Mike Minihan serves as President and CEO of the Candy Bomber Foundation, bringing more than three decades of leadership experience in the U.S. Air Force, including his role as Commander of Air Mobility Command. He oversaw global operations involving over 1,000 aircraft and 100,000 personnel, with missions supporting Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza. Minihan’s connection to the Berlin Airlift is deeply personal—his grandfather served during that era, and he was inspired from an early age by the story of Colonel Gail Halvorsen, the Berlin Candy Bomber. In November 2024, he assumed leadership of the Foundation to carry forward Halvorsen’s legacy of hope, service, and the enduring impact of small acts of kindness. Under his guidance, the Foundation is expanding its mission to inspire the next generation of aviators and humanitarians.
